Been thrifting - surprised?
I took the price tags off and dumped them on my couch - and I noticed a color theme.
I like it. Bright orange, bright bubblegum pink, navy blue. I like it a LOT.
Found this Givenchy scarf the same day I found the Pucci slip. Silk and oh-so-French and wonderful; it does have a little hold and spot, which I might try to dry-clean out. (Not the hole. That would be an awesome dry-cleaner, though, if I could find it.) $3.
Vera scarf. Not silk, but that makes life a lil' easier. I like florals that are a little weird, a little wack, a little off - which really means a lot ON. $3.
This dress surprised me. It just did. Tiers of ruffles are kind of rare. And they seem like they could go very wrong, in terms of highlighting unfortunate... proportions. But this dress doesn't. It also came with what I first thought was a scarf - which I thought was rather exciting - and it turns out, someone just cut off the bottom ruffle. ? So maybe I will attempt to sew it back on... but I kind of think I won't. It's a great length. $6.
Thus ends the color trend; thenceforth begins the sequin trend - surprised?
I repeat, THE SEQUIN TREND.
Sequined pants - WHO KNEW. I didn't. I don't know why I was surprised. I like that they are square sequins. I don't particularly care that the pants are all-silk, because it actually makes the shape kind of weird. I'll work with it, though. $10
Here's a nice, chill spangled blouse. It looks a little dumpy on the hanger, and I almost put it back without trying it on - but I took a chance, and it looks nice n' chic n' slouchy. Not clowny, believe it or not. $3.
But if that isn't enough for you... there is this:
Ahem.
Words fail. Pictures do a better job.
I was in downtown Naperville over Christmas, browsing around with my little sister, and I saw this in a thrift-store window. Blazers can very easily look boxy on the hanger, as did this one. But you know how this goes! It's actually very sleek and fitted.
Actually, pictures kind of fail, too - it's better to see this one in person. :) $40 (and well worth it).
And now, I really should just take a break... after I go to the Salvation Army by my new job. And then I will take a break. I will.
